Perfect Cherry Pie

Perfect Cherry Pie Recipe
INGREDIENTS

* 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 8 tablespoons butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes and frozen
* 4 tablespoons vegetable shortening, in small pieces, frozen
* 8 tablespoons very cold cream cheese, in small pieces
* 1/3 cup ice-cold water
* 3 (16 ounce) cans water-packed red, tart, pitted cherries, drained and juice reserved
* 1 cup sugar
* 1/4 cup potato starch
* 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
* 1 tablespoon butter, in small pieces
* 1 egg white, lightly beaten
* 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar


FRESH CHERRY PIE INSTRUCTIONS

1. First of all mix flour, 2 Tbs. sugar and salt in a food processor. Add 8 Tbs. frozen butter and pulse 4 times, 1 long second each time. Drop shortening and cream cheese into flour mixture; pulse another 4 or 5 times, 1 long second each, until fats are the size of peas and fine gravel.
2. And then dump mixture into a medium bowl; rub through clean fingertips to blend. Stir in water with a rubber spatula until dough clumps form. Press dough with your palm to form a ball, then divide in half. Wrap each half in plastic wrap, pressing to form thick disks.
Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
3. Adjust oven rack to lowest position and place a pizza stone or four 9-inch quarry tiles (from a hardware store) on rack to form an 18-inch square. Preheat to 400 degrees.
4. In a large saucepan, cook 1 cup cherry juice, 1 cup sugar, potato starch and a pinch of salt over medium-low heat; stir with a rubber spatula until a very thick paste forms. Scrape paste into
cherries in a bowl. Add almond extract; stir to combine.
5. Set a dough disk on a floured work surface. Roll into a 14-inch circle. Fold in half and quickly lift into a 9-inch Pyrex pie plate (not deep-dish). Unfold. Fit dough into pie plate so it is not stretched in any way. Refrigerate.
6. Roll remaining dough disk into a 12-inch circle. Remove pie shell from refrigerator, add fruit filling, and dot with 1 Tb. butter. Fold dough circle in half; quickly lift onto filling and unfold. Trim all around to 1/2-inch beyond lip of pie plate. Roll overhanging dough under with fingertips; flute.
7. Set an 18-inch square of heavy-duty foil on tiles or pizza stone. Set pie on foil and bake until crust just starts to color, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven, brush with egg white, and
sprinkle with 1 1/2 Tbs. sugar. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes longer. Bring foil up around pie to loosely cover edges.
Bake until filling bubbles, 15 to 20 minutes longer. Cool on a wire rack.

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/3 c. lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Blend together milk, cheese, lemon juice and vanilla. Pour into pie crust. Refrigerate 1 hour

* 2 cups pitted cherries
* 2 cups blueberries, rinsed and drained
* 1 1/4 cups white sugar
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
* 1 tablespoon butter
* 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

FRESH CHERRY PIE RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon in large bowl. Add fruit. Add lemon juice, and stir well.
2. Pour into a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Dot with the butter or margarine. Cover with top crust
and flute edges. Cut small slits in the top.
3. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour. I put a baking sheet under mine to catch any liquid that might bubble over.

Fresh Cherry Pie Recipe INGREDIENTS
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 2/3c flour
  • 1/8t salt
  • 2/3c liquid from cherries
  • 1/4t almond extract
  • 1/8t red food coloring
  • fresh red cherries
  • 2tb butter
  • 1 egg yolk

Fresh Cherry Pie Recipe INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 425. Make pie shell, using your favorite recipe. Com- bine sugar, flour and salt; stir into cherry liquid in saucepan. Bring to boiling, stirring. Reduce heat and simmer 5 min; mixture will be thickened Add almond extract and food coloring. Add fresh cherries; refrigerate. Roll half of pastry on lightly floured surface, fit into 9" pie pan. Pour cooled fresh cherry filliing into pie shell; dot with butter. Roll the other half of pastry to fit over top, with an overhang of 1". Make several cuts edges and flute. Lightly brush top with egg yolk beaten with 1 T water. Bake 35-40 min un- til golden. Serve slightly warm...and the fresh cheery pie is ready to serve..enjoy it !

  • 4 c Sour red cherries - pitted*
  • 1 1/2c Sugar substitute - Splenda
  • 1/4c Cornstarch
  • 1tb Lemon juice
  • 1/4t Almond extract
  • 1tb Margarine
Fresh Cherry Pie Recipe INSTRUCTIONS
In large bowl, combine fresh cherries, sugar substitute, cornstarch, lemon juice
famous chef recipes for pumpkin pie and almond extract. Let stand 15 minutes. Line 9-inch pie plate with half the pastry. Stir fresh cherry mixture; pour into pie plate. Dot with margarine. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2-inch strips. Weave strips on top of fresh cherry filling in lattice fashion. Trim ends of strips even with edge of bottom crust. Flute edge. INGREDIENTS
  • fresh sour cherries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • salt
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 15 oz pie crust
INSTRUCTIONS
Drain two 16-oz cans pitted fresh sour cherries, reserving 1/2 cup juice.
Combine 1 cup sugar, 3 Tbsp cornstarch, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, and a pinch salt in medium saucepan.
Stir in reserved cherry juice and 1 Tbsp lemon juice. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil 1 minute.
Remove from heat; stir in cherries and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. Cool completely. Preheat oven to 425.
Prepare your favorite pastry for a double-crust pie or use 1 pkg (15 oz) refrigerated pie crusts. Roll half the pastry on lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle; line 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Spoon in filling.
Roll remaining pastry into an 11-inch circle; cut vents with small, sharp knife. Place pastry over filling; trim edges,leafing a 1- inch overhang. Pinch edges together. Fold overhang up over edge and flute.
Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375; bake 30 minutes more, until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
Cool on wire rack. Serve the fresh cherry pie recipe warm or at room temperature. Enjoy it !

  • 3tb Cornstarch
  • 1/4ts Salt
  • 2/3c Grenadine syrup
  • 2pk Frozen cherries (16-oz)
  • thawed
  • 1/2ts Almond extract
  • 2tb Butter or margarine
  • Double crust pastry
  • For double crust 9 inch
  • 2ts Milk
  • Substitute:
  • 2lb Fresh cherries - pitted
  • 1/4c Cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan; stir mixture to remove lumps. Stir grenadine syrup into sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat until smooth, stirring constantly. Add cherries; simmer until liquid
is thickened and transparent (about 4 minutes), stirring gently once or twice. Add almond extract and butter, stirring until butter melts; cool. Roll out half of pastry to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Place in a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate; trim off excess pastry along edges. Pour cooled cherry mixture into pastry shell. Roll remaining pastry to 1/8-inch thickness; transfer to top of pie. Trim off excess pastry along edges. Fold edges under and flute. Cut slits in top crust for steam to escape. Brush top of pastry shell lightly with milk. Bake at 400 degrees for 55 minutes or until golden brown. Cool pie before serving. The cherry pie recipe is ready to serve....nice one ! Enjoy it !

Recipe

Ingredients:

* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1 1/2 cups sour cream
* 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened and cut in pieces
* 2 tablespoons melted butter
* graham cracker crumb crust
* 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Graham Cracker Crust:
* 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, about 15 graham crackers
* 1/2 cup sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine Graham Cracker Crumb Crust ingredients. Press into a 9-inchpie pan. Bake at 400° for 6 minutes. Cool before filling.
Prepare cheesecake pie filling. Beat together eggs, sugar, vanilla,and sour cream. Gradually add cream cheese, beating well. Beat in melted butter. Pour cheese mixture into 9-inch prepared and baked graham cracker crust. Bake cherry cheesecake pie at 325° for 35 minutes, or until set in center. Will firm up as it cools. Top with cherry pie filling; chill cherry cheesecake pie thoroughly before serving. The cherry pie recipe is ready to serve...great taste !

2. In a medium bowl mix together cherries, water, and sugar. Pour mixture into pastry-lined deep dish pie pan. Dot with butter or margarine. Cover with top pastry. Seal edges and cut steam vents in top.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, until crust is golden brown. The fresh cherry pie recipe is ready....nice !

* 1 (15 ounce) package double crust ready-to-use pie crust
* 3 (15 ounce) cans pitted sour cherries, drained
* 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
2. Press one of the pie crusts into a 9 inch pie plate. Stir together the cherries, tapioca, sugar, and almond extract in a bowl.
Let the mixture stand for 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the other pie crust into 1/2 inch strips to make a lattice top. Pour the cherry mixture into the pie shell. Lay the strips across the pie in
a lattice pattern, and pinch the edges to seal.
3. Bake in the preheated oven 40 to 50 minutes until the fresh cherry pie crust is golden brown. Allow to cool before serving. The fresh cherry pie recipe is ready....enjoy the pie !

INGREDIENTS

* 1 (20 ounce) can pitted sour cherries
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1 envelope (1 tablespoon) unflavored gelatin
* 2 egg yolks
* 1/8 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
* 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring
* 2 egg whites
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
* 1 (9 inch) graham cracker crust

DIRECTIONS

1. Let cherries sit in juice with 1/4 cup sugar for 2 hours.
2. Drain juice off cherries into a saucepan. Soften gelatin in the cherry juice. Mix in egg yolks and salt. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly, for 4 minutes, until gelatin dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in almond extract, red food color, and cherries.
Chill until thick, but not coagulated.
3. In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Fold into cherry mixture. Fold in whipped cream until no streaks remain. Pour into graham cracker crust. Chill in refrigerator. The fresh cherry pie recipe is ready...enjoy the pie !!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 graham pie crust
  • 1 lb. can pitted sour cherries
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1/3 c. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 c. whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 rounded tbsp. cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend cherries, sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened. Cool.
Make filling by mixing condensed milk, lemon juice, vanilla and almond extract. Stir until mixture thickens. Add whipped cream, mix thoroughly. Spoon into pie crust. Top with cooled cherry glaze. Chill 2-3 hours. The fresh cherry pie recipe is ready to serve...nice one !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 1 c. drained, pitted bing cherries
  • 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 pt. whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 graham cracker crumb pie shell
  • 1/4 c. graham cracker crumbs (for topping)
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix Eagle Brand milk, lemon juice, drained bing cherries and nuts.
Fold in whipped cream. Pour into graham cracker crumb pie shell.
Sprinkle top of pie with graham cracker crumbs. Refrigerate 2 or more hours before serving.

SOUR CHERRY PIE .... a great cherry pie recipes to try !

INGREDIENTS
FILLING:
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pitted red tart cherries
  • 1 c. reserved cherry liquid
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
  • 1/3 c. cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 3-4 drops red food color
CRUST AND GLAZE:
  • Pastry for 9" double crust pie
  • Milk
  • Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
1. For Filling: Drain cherries in large strainer over bowl, reserving 1 cup liquid. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in medium saucepan. Stir in reserved 1 cup cherry liquid. Cook and stir on medium heat 3-4 minutes or until mixture thickens. Remove from heat.
Stir in cherries, remaining 3/4 cup sugar, butter, almond extract and food color. Refrigerate 1 hour.

2. For Crust: Heat oven to 400 degrees. prepare cut and press crust into 9 inch pie plate. Spoon in filling. Cover pie with top crust. Cut slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.

3. For Glaze: Brush with milk. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until filling in center is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Cool until barely warm or to room temperature before serving.
